mein licht

is a photographic project that documents the presence of those who rest in our cemeteries.  A picture of a sleeper has been posted every day. The account has soon turned into a spinning wheel that generates different life tales. Faces of the dead women, children, war heroes, common people, are the protagonists of a delicate reflection on the primary repressed of the human being, death, and on the theme of memory, delegated to technological and electronic devices not immune to errors. In the audiovideo work, analogue video synthesizers were used whose erroneous calculation of a signal alien to the device has generated a falsification of the memory, alluding to the mnemonic process, also subject of metamorphosis and ineluctable distortion in the course of the time.

The Sleepers became an audio-video installation in 2019, inside Art City Report for Arte Fiera Bologna and of the summer calendar of the Monumental Cemetery of the Certosa di Bologna, thanks to the collaboration with Pasquale Sorrentino (MU versatile label) , musician e genius maker.

The Sleepers returns to #certosadibologna this 22th August and in Sept the 5th. The A/V installation is a #crossmedia opera, spread inside the #cemetery. The purpose of the artwork is a delicate reflection among the main human blanked out, the death, and on the memory, entrusted to technological devices subject to errors.
Thanks to my journey’s mates Pasquale Sorrentino for embracing the project since the very beginning and Alessandro Tampieri for joining us with his professional and talented presence from here on.

Documenti Sperimentali

Documenti Sperimentali is a four-handed documentary and two FujiXT camera project together with Mario Guida, talented musician and photographer, arisen during the long nights of the Bolognese electronic and experimental performance scene, accompanied by talks on photography, the state of the art, incredible people and artists and the desire to don’t let everything dissolve into the non-memory state.

Documenti Sperimentali is for this reason a challenge to beat the rhythm of electronic experimentation and elevate visual experimentation from the dark. It is a living archive, whose purpose is to imprint in our memories the fleeting flashes of the Bolognese artistic performance scene, its faces and its bodies, above and beyond the stage.
